ゲイリー・バーデン、グラハム・ボネット、ロビン・マッコーリーの3人に加え、ドゥギー・ホワイトを加えた4人ヴォーカル体制でおこなわれた1年ぶりとなる来日ツアーは、事前の想像を遥かに上回る素晴らしい内容となりました。前回2017年の来日ツアー（ラウパ・ヘッドライナー＆大阪単独公演）が、その前年におこなわれた「フェスト」お披露目ジャパン・ツアー3公演（大阪、東京、札幌）の流れを概ね踏襲したものであったのに対し、ニュー・アルバム「レザレクション」を携えて行われた今回のツアーは、ステージ進行や演奏クオリティといったライヴを構成する主要素のあらゆる点で悉く前2回のツアーを凌駕する圧倒的なものとなったのです。新譜に冠された「レザレクション」という言葉は伊達ではありません。他の追随を許さぬカリスマ性でHRシーンの中心で輝きを放ちまくっていたあの「神」が遂に帰ってきたのです！「ホリデイ」でマイケル自らがリード・ヴォーカルをとるという驚愕のオープニングから、いきなりクライマックスの「ドクター・ドクター」！（グラハム、ゲイリー、ロビンと3人が順に登場する演出が憎い！）そしてテンプル・オブ・ロックの功労者ドゥギーが登場し、その後は最新の楽曲と不朽のインスト・ナンバーを交えながら、マッコーリー・シェンカー・グループ→グラハム期MSG→ゲイリー期MSG→UFOと、あたかもタイムマシンで45年に及ぶ「神」のキャリアを遡っていくような感動的な内容となっています。唯一無二のギター・トーンとコブシの効いた日本人好みのプレイは説得力満点！随所に設けられたMCパートでは、その不器用ながらも愛すべき人柄がひしひしと伝わってきます！バンドの繰り出す演奏面に関しても、コーラスなどのヴォーカル・アンサンブルなどにおいて飛躍的な進歩が見受けられ、3年目にしてようやくこの「フェスト」が一つの完成形に到達したのだと痛感させられます。とにかく全編聴きごたえ満点の来日ツアー6公演。本タイトルはその後半3公演（9月2日ZEPP札幌公演、9月4日仙台PIT公演、9月5日東京国際フォーラム公演）を異次元のパーフェクト・サウンドで収録した最終決定版です。プレス4CD「Live in Sapporo & Sendai 2018 -Definitive Edition-」（XAVEL-SMS-172/173）とプレス3CD「Live in Tokyo (2nd Night) 2018 -Definitive Edition-」（XAVEL-SMS-174）をまとめたものですので、収録内容などの詳細に関しましてはそちらの解説をご覧下さい。
